What Is CHP/CCHP ?
CHP/CCHP is an energy efficient technology which generates and recycles the wasted heat or hot water to provide useful thermal / cooling energy, such as air condition , domestic hot water and industrial processes ,etc .
Nearly two-thirds of the energy used by conventional electricity generation is wasted in the form of heat discharged to the atmosphere. Additional energy is wasted during the distribution of electricity to end users. By capturing and using heat that would otherwise be wasted, and by avoiding distribution losses, CHP can achieve efficiencies of over 80 percent, compared to 50 percent for typical technologies (i.e., conventional electricity generation and an on-site boiler).
How Does It Work ?
Wagna gas (Biogas, Landfill gas , Natural gas , LPG) generator set produce electricity and use heat recovery devices to collect the heat in the form of steam and hot water from engine , then converted into useful heat/cooling energy.
CHP/CCHP System has numbers of good benefits , including :
Efficiency Benefits
CHP/CHHP requires less fuel to produce a given energy output and avoids transmission and distribution losses that occur when electricity travels over power lines. The energy efficiency is up to 80%.
Eco-friendly
Less fuel is needed to produce each unit of energy output and transmission and distribution losses are avoided. Therefore , CHP/CCHP reduces emissions of greenhouse gases and other air pollutants.
Economic Benefits
CHP can save operation money. Thanks to its high efficiency, collect the waste heat and convert into useful heat/cooling energy.
Reliability Benefits
Unreliable electricity service represents a quantifiable business, safety, and health risk for some companies and organizations. CHP is an on-site generation resource and can be designed to support continued operations in the event of a disaster or grid disruption by continuing to provide reliable electricity.
Applications
Manufacturer—chemical,paper, food processing
Residential—apartments, communities, restaurant
Commercial—hotels, health care center , nursing homes , oil field
Institutions—colleges , hospitals, prisons, military bases , weather bureau
Municipal—sewage treatment , landfill , environment protection station
Agriculture—farm, livestock
For example, Biogas CHP/CCHP System apply for livestock industry
Due to its high electrical efficiency and self-sufficient in energy advantages. This biogas CHP co-generation can save operation cost of up to 30% and rapid return on investment of 2-5 years.
